On April 15, 2025, a virtual evangelism training session was held with the mission leader from Peru and several members from across the country. The session was led by Pastor Isaac Aranda, Director of Missions for South America, who taught on the foundations of evangelism, focusing on two key passages: Luke 8:26-39 and John 4. These passages highlight Jesus’ encounters with the demon-possessed man in the region of the Gerasenes and the Samaritan woman at the well.
Pastor Isaac emphasized how a genuine encounter with Jesus radically transforms a person’s life and naturally leads them to share what He has done. In Luke 8, after Jesus delivers the man from demonic oppression, the man wants to follow Him. But Jesus sends him back home, instructing him to declare what God has done for him. In John 4, the Samaritan woman, moved by her encounter with Jesus, runs to her town to tell everyone that she has found the Messiah.
The pastor stressed that evangelism flows from a real, personal relationship with Jesus. It’s not just about techniques or strategies-it begins with hearts that have been truly touched and changed by the power of God. He encouraged the Peruvian team to seek a deep, authentic walk with the Lord, so that their evangelism would overflow from that transformative experience, marked by passion and sincerity.
The session also included a time to share evangelism strategies that have been used in Colombia since the early days of the mission, especially those aimed at reaching young people. While different methods and tools are helpful, the emphasis remained on the importance of relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit at all times.
Let us continue to pray for the mission members in Peru-that the Lord would keep working in their hearts, strengthen them, and use them powerfully to spread His message through their own personal encounters with Jesus.
