This Monday, January 20, 2025, the South American regional conference was held, led by regional secretary, Pastor Moisés González. It began with a review of the goal of 250 cities. The pastor explained the challenge of having goals in contrast to a smaller number of CM, he said that achievable goals should not limit our faith and when planning we must leave the space that belongs to God to go much further.
Today, strategic planning was mainly discussed, and for this it must be carried out taking into account that there are different presbyteries that can allow national leaders to take advantage of the natural or political division of the territory.
Three questions arise for this: In which cities is there more population and young people? In which cities are the 5 best universities in the region? And in which of the region is the economy, government, education and culture concentrated? After this exercise, the main cities of the country will be selected, 5 for each region or presbytery. By having this information clear and applying it correctly, we will be able to approach different young people in different areas, and eventually many will be reached effectively so that they can be trained.
Pastor Moisés referred to the centripetal force, receiving the mission guidance from the headquarters, but it is evaluated and contextualized from the cities. Then, by living this consolidation process together, what comes next is the pioneering that will be carried out in two phases. Phase 1: Presbyterial Pioneering and Phase 2: Regional Consolidation. At this point, Pastor Moisés took as an example the strategic pioneering plan of Colombia and the great experience obtained.
The meeting concluded with words of encouragement and challenge for all the leaders gathered, with great faith and hope in a time of great expansion in the South American region, trusting in the grace and wisdom of God that guides us at all times.
